Two Years Fixed Term Opportunity

 

Methamphetamine Treatment Programme, Programmes and Interventions Project and Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Aftercare Package

 

Do you have a strong interest in the development and implementation of rehabilitation programmes and interventions? Do you want help make New Zealand a safer place?

 

 We welcome applications from candidates with a sound understanding of the theory and application of rehabilitation and therapeutic interventions and demonstrated experience in alcohol and other drug, mental health and/or offender rehabilitation fields.

 

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Programmes and Interventions team at the Department of Corrections’ National Office for two years. The team is involved with a diverse portfolio of rehabilitation programmes and interventions for men and women serving community or prison based sentences. The objective of this work is to help people make positive changes and lead law-abiding lives, which in turn will contribute to a reduction in reoffending and create safer communities.

 

This team’s portfolio of programmes focus on areas that include Alcohol and Other Drugs, Family Violence, Child Sex Offending, Tikanga Maori, Parenting and Restorative Justice programmes.

 

We are looking for two dynamic, hardworking, and motivated Senior Advisers who will lead the design, procurement and management of a variety of rehabilitative programmes and interventions for people who misuse alcohol and other drugs.

 

This busy and challenging role is responsible for:

  • Managing the development of new programmes and interventions
  • Changes and improvements in programme and intervention design and delivery
  • Continuous quality improvement
  • Partner engagement and contract management

 

You will have strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent problem solving skills, sound judgement, and the ability to work effectively within a team are imperative.



A minimum qualification of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline is desireable, as is  demonstrated professional work experience in a public sector role.

Salary Range: $82,477 - $123,715
