  • have experience in creating hypotheses, conducting research and be confident in presenting your findings in plain English
  • have the ability to think critically about situations and explore broadly for solutions
  • be interested in applying your methodological skills to a range of projects in a practical environment
  • be able to work effectively in statistical programming languages such as SAS and R

  • have the ability to work well in a team environment and form effective relationships with people inside and outside of your team
  • have an ability to get things done with limited supervision, and plan to deliver your work to time and quality requirements
  • be looking for an opportunity to play an active part in a community of statisticians and enjoy sharing your knowledge with others.

Statistics New Zealand is the first source of independent factual information for anyone making decisions in business, government and the community. Our statistics feature every day in newspapers and on the radio, Internet and television, telling real stories about real issues.

Applications close 11.59pm - Monday, 12 December 2016.

Invitations for interviews will be made before 23rd December with interviews to take place in January.
