Our team

The Contract Audit team is responsible for ensuring robust audit/assurance procedures are implemented that measure and monitor the performance and quality of work conducted by Maintenance Contracts. This includes the observation and promotion of safe work practices.

The role:

  • Visiting Housing New Zealand tenants in their homes to audit maintenance work that has been completed
  • Contribute to the quality assurance of 13 contracts with seven contractors for the maintenance of 65,000 properties to an estimated value of $400 million per annum
  • Accountable for ensuring the accurate and efficient delivery of quality assurance assessments and reporting
  • Providing technical advice, support and recommendations to Housing New Zealand staff and/or contractors
  • Working closely and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to problem solve any issues which may arise from CA findings.

The skills you can bring:

  • Working knowledge of residential building maintenance practices and or experience in property and construction management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to foster good stakeholder relationships through consultation and partnership
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, particularly the ability to communicate clearly, concisely and in plan language
  • Sound judgement, discretion and proven ability to work under pressure
  • The initiative, drive and enthusiasm to work as part of a cooperative team
  • Empathy and understanding of social housing is desirable including knowledge of issues, priorities and concerns facing key customer and community groups in the region
  • Sound computer literacy in Microsoft Windows environment.
