The Health Safety and Security Team within the People Technology and Change business group are seeking a Security Advisor to support the organisation in strengthening and expanding the security programme. 

As the Security Advisor you will be responsible for providing operational support to the the organisation. You will also work collaboratively with other Housing New Zealand teams to ensure that Health, Safety and Security practices are delivered to a high standard. 

Ideally you will have the following:

  • An active listener who can demonstrate responsiveness, and awareness of customer needs, issues and limitations
  • Capacity and capability to interact with a wide spectrum of customers across Housing New Zealand
  • Can demonstrate an understanding of Protective Security principles and practices
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to provide training and well developed presentation skills.

This role is responsible for delivering timely and professional advice that assists the Housing New Zealand and ensures that resources are focused on meeting present and future needs of customers and delivering outcomes in line with organisational objectives and values. 

The role responsibilities are varied, from providing security training, to carrying out security investigations, from completing site assessments and audits to providing staff with security and safety advice. 

The ability to work autonomously is essential as the role requires work across the Housing New Zealand portfolio, and some travel will be required. It will be an advantage if you have had some experience in security industry.
