Lecturer – Animal Science

Christchurch based

Permanent, Proportional 0.3FTE (12 hours per week)

The Role

The role involves teaching and assessing primarily in animal handling in the Animal Room, although some lectures and small group teaching is also required.  The role involves significant liaison with the animal room technician and other teaching staff and good communication skills and team work are essential.  The role also involves the maintenance of Moodle sites across courses within the Animal Science programmes.  The successful applicant must be flexible and available to work hours to suit the timetable.


The successful applicant should have a relevant animal related or veterinary qualification with experience in veterinary clinic work and/or prior teaching and assessment experience in a blended learning environment. A current Driver’s License is necessary to perform the varied requirements of this role.
