The Office of the Clerk of the House of Representatives provides advisory services to the House of Representatives, directly assisting the House and its committees with the business of Parliament. Rather than just watching democracy in action you can be a part of it and at the Office of the Clerk you'll be working directly at its core. What will you do?

The purpose of the Senior Business Analyst role is to provide high level advice to the Office's Business Systems Owners, in order to support the development and implementation of new or enhanced business information systems and associated business processes.

This includes:

  • identifying and validating business requirements
  • defining Office of the Clerk business processes, who is responsible for each process and how their responsibilities interface with ICT providers
  • advising on the prioritisation, sequencing and timing of ICT projects
  • supporting the design and testing of new and enhanced systems and processes
  • reviewing products and system solutions proposed by ICT providers
  • supporting Business System Owners with implementing changes to systems and processes; and helping to resolve system and/or process issues.

Your background:

  • Significant knowledge of and expertise in ICT systems / processes and their interaction with business systems / processes
  • Sound knowledge of software development and project lifecycles, project methodologies and of project and task planning
  • Significant experience and a sound understanding of business process analysis methods and techniques
  • Solid understanding of the Parliament sector and the role of the Office of the Clerk, or the ability to quickly develop a strong understanding
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to establish effective relationships with people at all levels, able to influence and persuade others on complex issues
  • An appreciation of tikanga Māori in relation to the work of the Office
  • Relevant tertiary qualification or industry experience
