The role

This role is an opportunity to lead the strategic and operational management of the Transport Agency's property disposal, survey and legislation programmes across the Waikato and Bay of Plenty for future transport system solutions. You will use your experience with large scale property service contract management to effectively manage service providers. Use your strong relationship management skills to work with key internal stakeholders to identify and facilitate the disposal of surplus land. You will be self-motivated, driven and be able to work autonomously.

What you will bring

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • A minimum of 7 years experience in a similar or related property role (e.g. valuation, consultancy, property management etc.)
  • A sound understanding of the issues involved in the disposal of property held by the Crown including an in depth understanding of the Public Works Act 1981, survey and legislation and related Crown policy
  • Experience in large scale property service contract management from either client or service provider side
  • Demonstrated experience of the operation and drivers of contractors and consultants within a commercial contract framework
  • An understanding of the principles of tendering and of contracts, preferably between the Crown and private sector companies
  • Proven experience in leading, influencing and building credibility across a range of stakeholders
  • A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Bachelor or Business Studies (VPM), Bachelor of Property) is preferred
  • Membership of a relevant professional institution is desirable but not essential
  • A current and valid New Zealand Driver's Licence (or equivalent)
