Job Description

The Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA) is a government agency that aims to improve the environmental, economic and social well-being of New Zealanders, through the uptake of energy efficiency and renewable energy. We aim to influence the energy decisions of households, businesses, motorists and transport operators through the provision of trusted information and targeted programmes.

The objective of the Strategy and Programme Development Team is to ensure that: EECA's work programme is strategy led; that EECA identifies and targets opportunities (within its functions) that can deliver the greatest public value at the lowest cost; and translates these into effective market engagement programmes.

The main focus of the role is to ensure EECA designs and develops a high-value suite of programmes founded on sound analysis and intervention logic, and is able to articulate that value to all stakeholders.

This role works with others within the team and across EECA to ensure that there is a continuous pipeline of programmes in design, pilot and implementation stage.

You will have strong programme design experience. We are looking for someone who can provide high quality analysis and formulate the evidence base on which EECA develops our programmes. Ideally you will have in-depth and working knowledge of the energy market, energy sector issues, legislation and challenges with the capability to debate and apply these to EECA

If this sounds like a role you are interested in learning more about, please read the position description.

Your application for the role should include the following:

  • A cover letter telling us about your interest in the role and highlight your key achievements to date, relevant to the role
  • A curriculum vitae (CV) that outlines your skills, experience and career history relevant to the position you are applying for
