Intelligence Analyst remuneration range: $55,927 - $72,377.00

The National Organised Crime Group (NOCG) is responsible for detecting, investigating and prosecuting organised crime networks both nationally and internationally. This position is based at Harlech House, Otahuhu, Auckland.


The NOCG Intelligence Unit identifies emerging risks relevant to transnational and organised crime, identifies criminal groups and provides analytical support to investigations.


As an Intelligence Analyst you will be skilled at investigating information, be proactive and inquiring, and have the ability to analyse a range of data and information to draw valid conclusions. You must have a high level of interpersonal skills, be able to work as a team member and operate in a dynamic environment.


The purpose of this role is:

  • To contribute to crime and crash reduction and the prevention and disruption of criminal activity by producing nationally-standardised intelligence products that inform and support prevention, intervention and enforcement activities.
  • To contribute to the development of local and national intelligence analysis capability through exemplary practice, intelligence training and assessment.


Applicants must demonstrate:

  • Their ability to conduct analysis of the environment including patterns and trends, drawing conclusion and justifying recommendations (provide examples)
  • Analytical skills working with ambiguous information and adding value to information obtained (provide examples)
  • Strong and effective communication skills including the ability to write clearly and succinctly and present work in a style that effectively influences the target audience.

Special Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Hold the National Diploma in Intelligence Analysis or equivalent. If the NDIA is not held, the applicant must have 2-3 years of intelligence experience and be able to complete and submit the required NDIA modules within 12 months of employment.
  • Submit work examples with their application. 
  • Be a New Zealand Citizen or have permanent residency and be able to obtain and maintain an appropriate security clearance.


Additional Information

Successful applicant must reside in Auckland.
