As the Parliamentary Communications and Social Media Advisor, you will have the ability to communicate complex issues in everyday language via a range of media and communication channels. You will be relied on to provide robust and to develop and implement a communications strategy.

This role is a varied and multifaceted one where you will be developing targeted content across a variety of social media channels to engage the local community, maintaining networks both inside and outside Parliament for your MP, managing communications materials such as press releases and radio interview content, and representing your MP in the community. You're happy to work autonomously and are well known for your resilient and unflappable nature.

Parliamentary Service is focussed on excellence and innovation and we are interested in you if you have well developed communication skills, resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Our ideal person will have knowledge of the political environment and parliamentary procedure. It is imperative that you are a fluent speaker of Te Reo Māori and have advanced written communication skills as you will be writing articles for social media in Te Reo Māori.

This role is for 20 hours per week Monday to Friday. Some flexibility in hours will be required. This is an events-based, fixed-term role linked to the term of the member of Parliament.
