Registered Nurse - Forensics

About the role

Te Whare Hohou Roko, is based within the Regional Forensic Psychiatric Service, CDHB Specialist Mental Health Services. It is a 9 bedded 24 hour service that provides extended secure rehabilitative care, its aim is to deliver culturally appropriate care within the least restrictive environment. We value fairness, respect and dignity, providing choices and individualised care that supports people with a mental illness to live a meaningful life. We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join this team, ideally with experience working in a Forensic Mental Health although we would certainly consider those new to the service setting.


  • Rostered Shifts to suit service requirements (4:2)

Skills and experience:

  • Current Registration with the NZNC and APC, that includes a scope of practice for Mental Health
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Enjoy working as part of a team
  • A clear understanding of Specialist Mental Health Service care with a commitment to quality patient care.
  • Forensic or acute specialist mental health nursing experience preferred but not essential
