Job Description

Senior Analyst - Health & ACC

The Treasury is the New Zealand Government's lead economic and financial advisor. Our vision is to raise living standards for all New Zealanders.

An efficient and effective health sector is at the heart of delivering higher living standards and wellbeing for New Zealanders and we have an opportunity for a Senior Analyst to join our Health & ACC team.

As a Senior Analyst you will have a lead role in our advice to Ministers around health capital business cases, working alongside the Ministry of Health, corporate centre agencies and senior district health board stakeholders on the development and assessment of transformative investment proposals for health facilities and ICT projects.  This role will also contribute to policy development related to the institutional structures and system settings for the delivery of the health capital pipeline.

About You

An understanding of Health and ACC policy would be an advantage, as would experience in financial and performance analysis. This role would suit someone with a finance background who understands how to use their communication and influencing skills to get traction and deliver results. The ability to successfully manage relationships well is vital to this role as it is outwardly focused working closely with both the Ministry of Health and the 20 district health boards (DHBs).

For appointment at the senior level, you will already have a significant breadth and depth of at least 5 years' analytical experience.

Our Team

This is an exciting time to join the Health and ACC team and make a contribution to our work programme through this capital focussed position. Our team leads the Treasury's advice on agency and system performance in the health sector to demonstrate value in the use of a high demand resource. This includes support to long term investment in the infrastructure that underpins health service delivery and consideration of the performance of DHBs and the primary care sector.

We can offer:

  • Interesting and stimulating work across a diverse range of areas, with opportunities to improve living standards for New Zealanders.
  • A commitment to providing work and training opportunities that support your development and career aspirations.
  • The opportunity to work in a supportive and high-performing team that is focused on individual and team development, constructive debate and collective impact.
  • A flexible work environment.

If this sounds like the opportunity for you, then, please click the 'apply now' button and follow the online process to register and submit your online application.

Inter-agency secondments from other government agencies will be considered and please talk to us about flexible work options.

Applications close - 22nd April. All applications must be made online.
