Job Description

What you will do
As Health Policy Advisor you will develop, write, review and refresh Defence Health policies, standards and protocols; and lead and contribute to related projects and provide policy advice across NZDF. You will work in alignment with the Defence Health policy programme and in compliance with regulatory requirements contributing to clear policy guidance, standards and protocols for the provision of health services within the NZDF.
This is a small, close knit team and you will work closely with the manager to ensure accurate, quality outcomes. No two days will be the same within an environment where you will be managing competing priorities, engaging with stakeholders and contributing to a diverse organisation focused on excellence.
What we need
We want a highly motivated person who has 4+ years' experience writing operational policy within the public sector environment. You will possess a clear and strong technical writing style with the ability to interpret legislation into plain English. Your excellent communication and rapport building skills will assist you in developing strong partnerships at all levels across the organisation. We want a supportive team player who is willing to volunteer ideas and work closely with others to achieve results.
Your attention to detail will enable quality assurance of your work and you will possess the confidence and ability to produce exceptional outcomes under pressure. You can think outside the square and understand the effect of policy and how to communicate this to an audience from a variety of professional, cultural and social backgrounds. You will have outstanding prioritisation and organisation skills and a desire to make a difference in the work that you do.
