Job Description

Are you the ICT Product Manager we are looking for? Come and join us here at MPI on a permanent basis.

The Corporate ICT Product Manager role is responsible for the strategic development of a digital product roadmap that will enable the outcomes required for our corporate system, working with the Corporate Services, Policy and Trade and the Strategy Performance and Engagement teams mobilising resources from across Business Technology and Information Services (BTIS) to deliver innovative products that are valuable, usable and feasible for our customer base.

To do this role justice, the ICT Product Manager will need to be part strategist, part evangelist, part consumer and business advocate and part analyst. Be the decision maker around what to build and what not to build and will need to both manage the day-to-day management of our existing product range but also drive new product development. The core responsibilities and outputs of this role are product roadmaps, prioritised requirements, and associated solid return on investment arguments to enable the vision across our corporate system.

Because we are looking to shift much of this work from project based teams to end-to-end capability teams, experience in helping shape effective product management, and embed the right capabilities, behaviours and practices (eg. Service design, lean, agile) is key. Please note that the operating model is being trialled and may change after July 2018 and have minor impacts on the role.

Relevant experience could include software development leadership, experience in programme or portfolio management, agile facilitation and team leadership.

  • Relevant experience working in product development and product management
  • Proven ability to deliver a user experience and user interface that is best in class
  • Experience of working in an Agile development environment
  • Self-starter with a proven experience of meeting or exceeding targets
  • Proven experience of managing product lifecycles from ideation through to production
  • Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results on digital projects
