We have a fantastic 6 month fixed term opportunity for an experienced Clinical Advisor to join ACC's Clinical Advisory Panel (CAP). As a Clinical Advisor within the CAP you will be primarily involved in the provision of clinical advice regarding surgery invoicing, appropriateness of surgery codes, implant costs, and non-core surgery costs. Depending on your skillset, you may also be involved in the provision of clinical advice to inform ACC's decision making on surgical entitlements, supporting these decisions through the Review process where necessary, preparing CAP advice for cases proceeding to hearings in the District Court, and involvement in a variety of CAP projects.

An in-depth knowledge of orthopaedic conditions and their aetiology coupled with the ability to make sense of complex clinical information and then translate it into plain English for our customers will be hugely beneficial.

You will be a self-starter who loves to pick up a project and follow it through effectively from conception right through to implementation. Great organisational skills and a proven ability to work under pressure are essential as you will be assisting the team to meet its customer's expectations. Along with this, you will be engaging with internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis, so outstanding communication skills will be the key to success. The CAP work on the basis of a consensus of opinion therefore the ability to be a team player cannot be understated.

In the past, we ve had theatre nurses, anaesthetic technicians, etc. come in and excel in this role. We re open to hearing from people with varying clinical backgrounds.

This is a full-time role, however, we will consider a part-time work arrangement for the right candidate.  This position can be worked in any of our major metro centres in New Zealand, although a Dunedin home location would be ideal.
