About the role

The Child Development Service has the unique position of Clinical Coordinator Paediatric Orthopaedics available. This requires a dynamic Physiotherapist working in the Orthopaedic Department at Christchurch Hospital assessing and supporting children and their families referred to orthopaedics, predominantly those with neuromuscular conditions. Your time will be divided between clinics in the Orthopaedic department liaising with consultants and registrars, and out in the community seeing children at home, preschools, or schools. Excellent organisation and communication skills are required to ensure timely liaison between services.

This is a part time position of 24 hours per week working alongside another part time physiotherapist. The specific arrangement of these hours will be discussed and mutually agreed upon.

Skills and experience

We're looking for someone that is passionate working with children and their whanau.

In addition to this you will meet the following criteria:

  • NZ registered with a current APC
  • Experience in paediatrics and neuro muscular conditions,
  • Knowledge of spasticity management and hip surveillance/li>
  • Full Drivers License and ability to drive a manual
