New Zealand Police has a vacancy for a full time file manager in the Criminal Justice Support Unit (CJSU) based at Wellington Central Police Station.  The position is for a one year fixed term contract.


CJSU is a centralised facility where all cases destined for proceedings in the criminal justice system are prepared to the standard necessary for presentation in Court by Police Prosecutors or Crown Solicitors.


CJSU assume responsibility for a number of tasks that have previously been the responsibility of the O/C case. These include preparation of full and ongoing disclosure, preparation of Prosecution files for Judge Alone and Jury trials and coaching and mentoring of frontline staff in the business of evidence collection and admissibility.


We have an opportunity for you to join a spirited team that delivers effective support services to staff in the Wellington Police District. This is a challenging position where you will be expected to prepare and deliver high quality files in a timely and efficient manner.


To be considered for this role you must demonstrate the following skills and experiences:


Demonstrate an excellent understanding of the Criminal Legal process, the Solicitor General Guidelines and the Criminal Disclosure Act 2008.

Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication with a proven ability to convey complex information in an easily understandable narrative.

Demonstrate experience in preparing defended hearing files to the requisite Prosecution standard.
