We are a Ministry with a commitment to putting children and young people at the heart of everything we do and say.  If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of at-risk young people, and want to join our supportive team who are fully committed to achieving positive outcomes for young people, whanau and the community, we're looking for an Administrator to join us and provide support service to our  Youth Work team at our Greymouth site.

The Greymouth site is making a commitment to intervening earlier with at-risk youth so that we can divert a path away from a more significant Oranga Tamariki intervention at a later time.  It is imperative that youth have a voice in their own solutions and are supported to engage positively in their community and promote Tinorangatiratanga.

This is an important role and is a busy and varied nee working under the supervision and guidance of the youth Team Leader . You will be responsible for a range of administration duties, including gathering appropriate information to clients and colleagues, providing case management assistance to the team, assisting in managing client financial plans, maintaining reports, and keeping updated records on our information systems database.  You will also support the Site Manager with administration duties as required.

Our vision is to support and empower young people to make positive changes so they can be embraced as full members of their whanau, schools and wider community.

To succeed in this unique opportunity, you will demonstrate:

  • Proven experience in office administration with a passion for providing excellent customer service
  • a high level of competence in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook, in particular the ability to type more than 40 wpm.
  • strong relationship building skills with exemplary customer service skills when dealing with the  public
  • well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills, able to juggle multiple tasks, set and manage competing priorities
  • ability to work well as part of a team, use your initiative and a sense of humour!
  • a clean, current full driver's licence.
  • Sharp eye for detail and high level of accuracy

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to prove your ability as a seamless administrator, offering support that is second to none and excelling in a position that is crucial to the working of the team. You must have the ability to know what's important and work at a very quick pace. A high level of planning, organisation and attention to detail is a must. Your commitment to customer service and maximising your performance is vital for this position.

In return we offer:

  • a salary between $36,982 - $48,189 per annum (based on skills and experience based on pro-rated hours)
  • a challenging and rewarding career
  • colleagues who are committed to the highest standards of work
  • Working in a team where you can develop your knowledge and gain practical experience
