Planning and Performance - Principal and Senior Advisor Roles

  • We are seeking two professionals to join our Planning and Performance team. The team leads the development of internal and external strategy, planning and reporting documents, supporting the Ministry to agree priorities and report an evidence-based performance story. 


  • The purpose of the Ministry of Education is to shape an education system that delivers excellent and equitable outcomes.  We offer a modern work environment with the opportunity to work as part of a team that links across the organisation and the education sector, during a period of significant change. 


  • The team is part of the Strategy, Planning and Governance Group which is responsible for the development, co-ordination and oversight of organisation strategy and planning as well as leading specific initiatives that are a priority for the Ministry. We support the Ministry by being trusted strategic partners. 
    • We are seeking a Principal Advisor who can provide technical expertise on the development of key accountability documents and provides facilitation, thought leadership and advice on content, form and process.  You will ensure that the Ministry's accountability obligations in relation to planning and reporting are to a high standard and continually improved.
    • We are seeking a Senior Advisor to lead the development of key accountability documents and help ensure delivery of high quality reporting activities, strategic planning and prioritisation processes, and organisational performance monitoring.
