The Canterbury District of the New Zealand Police has a vacancy for a Personnel Assistant to the District Commander. This position is based in the new and exciting Justice and Emergency Services Precinct Te Omeka in central Christchurch.

The ideal person will be able to respond to changing workloads and priorities while maintaining flexibility. It would suit someone who has a positive attitude, great people skills and organisational flair, is detail oriented, self-motivated, able to handle confidential information with discretion and be able to attain a Top Secret Clearance and pass police vetting.

 

Skills and experience – you will have:

An ability to work across the justice and social sectors is required. The applicant must be able to demonstrate a high level of integrity and professionalism in dealing with senior managers inside and outside the Police, as well as the ability to complete a high volume of tasks with minimal guidance or supervision. The person needs to be able to provide a full range of administrative and secretarial services accompanied with a good understanding of MS Outlook.
