Job Description

What you will do

Sitting within the Force Health Organisation (FHO) and reporting to the Manager Quality and Improvement, you will support the management of risk, quality and improvement for the health and physical performance services provided to the military personnel in New Zealand.  In this positon, you will be part of the team responsible for identifying, developing and leading improvements to support an integrated and holistic health service and undertake organisational performance reporting against agreed goals and objectives.  You'll be working with passionate health personnel, managers and senior leadership in a complex health delivery environment.
 
What we need

Your experience within a similar role in a health service delivery environment will be essential to partner with civilian and uniformed personnel and leaders, to manage compliance issues and deliver continuous improvement initiatives.  You will have worked with quality improvement & assurance systems, tools, and processes in previous positions and have the confidence to be able to adapt and apply your knowledge within a new environment.  
You'll have key skills in communication, problem solving and relationship building, a strong customer centric focus and be confident and competent writing reports, policies and strategies at an organisational level.  You will have a good understanding of NZ legislation and be able to provide training facilitation and advice to Defence Health Centre personnel and leadership.  
You'll be proactive in your efforts, have the desire to learn and gain insight into the NZDF environment as well as a good awareness of the wider health sector.

The Force Health Organisation (FHO) is part of Defence Health.  It delivers all NZDF health services to military personnel in New Zealand.  The services delivered by FHO includes; oral health, physical conditioning and strengthening and primary and occupational healthcare.

The remuneration band for this position is $65,180 to $80,516 inclusive of a 4% employer superannuation contribution

The minimum citizenship and residency criteria for security clearances to be granted by the NZ Defence Force are as follows:

Low level Security Clearance

  • most preferably a NZ citizen, who has resided in this country continuously for at least the last five years, OR
  • is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last five years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, the United Kingdom (UK) or the United States of America (USA); and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at this level.

If you do not meet these minimum criteria, we will not be able to accept your application.
