Housing New Zealand is a Statutory Crown Entity responsible for providing high quality state housing to people in the greatest need, for the duration of their need, alongside supporting the government's priorities in the supply of emergency and affordable housing.

Housing New Zealand's vision is 'Building lives and communities by housing New Zealanders'. The Governance Group provides key advice to the Chief Executive to give effect to the Board and Governments objectives so that key priorities are communicated to the business and potential roadblocks are identified early and addressed, as well leading strategic relationship with Ministers offices and other agencies.

We are currently looking for a Senior Advisor Governance Support. This role will report to the Governance Support Manager and will be responsible for managing projects as assigned across a broad range of topics with multiple stakeholders. You will be providing strategic advice and recommendations based on their understanding of the projects, the requirements of the board and wider HNZ business concerns, engaging with internal and external stakeholders.

Accountabilities include monitoring, analysis and reporting of progress for Governance project work. It will also include the establishment or improvement of systems and process to manage that reporting.

To be successful in this role, ideally you will have:

  • a tertiary level qualification with experience in supporting multiple essential levels of management and cross agency experience.
  • demonstrated success in writing skill at a high level including the presentation of information using advanced technology to deliver high quality outputs
  • the ability to assess, analyse and challenge information both the content and quality
  • the ability to communicate with senior leaders, delegates and stakeholders at all levels within an organisation and into other organisations
  • proven ability to organise and prioritise meetings and events including tracking and monitoring actions and meeting agendas delivering suitable outcomes and arrangements for multiple leaders
  • the ability to build and maintain strong relationships, communication and influencing skills.
