National Contracts Advisor

This is a great opportunity for a National Contracts Advisor to join the busy National Contracts Team who facilitates the purchase of services for frontline Ministry staff.   Advisors provide advice and support to stakeholders regarding the purchasing and management of contracts, including policies and procedures.  Advisors also support the processing of invoices against contracts and scheduling of payments.  While each Advisor has a specific niche, training is provided to work across different portfolios and contract areas.

  
Working with a great team your primary focus will be on contract processing, however, you'll get an opportunity to be involved in the development, enhancement and implementation of contract management policies and procedures.

  
Strong communication and relationship management skills are important as the Advisors works closely with providers including cost negotiations.

  
Skills and Experience

  • Experience in contract management or purchasing
  • Understanding of contract management practice and procedures within large, complex organisations
  • Experience in contract establishment, monitoring, maintenance and improvements

  
This role would suit an individual with client-facing experience who has the ability to build effective working partnerships.  A methodical approach and the ability to follow clear processes and procedures is vital as well as a high degree of accuracy and a focus on details.

  
You will need a full drivers licence with the ability to drive the Ministry's cars.  Some travel may be necessary from time to time.
