Job Description

An exciting and challenging position is currently available within the Buller District for an experienced Ranger to lead the team in Karamea.

We are looking for a pivotal link in our successful team.  We need a team player, that is cool under pressure, has proven they can manage competing demands and can still keep a positive team oversight.

A person that is willing to make their mark within a beautiful region, be immersed in leading the job and their team forward and be part of a dynamic community with aspirations for their National Park.

You will lead a team of technically able rangers across:

  • construction and maintenance of visitor sites and assets
  • project management and improvement of facilities and amenities
  • support asset management and planning systems for teams on a variety of projects across Karamea and Kahurangi National Park
  • lead the area's visitor hazard and risk management systems

Your skills and experience in field work and asset management systems will be of great help to others as your role includes supporting and/or overseeing Rangers, community groups, contractors or volunteers doing conservation work in the field.

But what is most important is that you have that spark for people leadership, coaching and providing direction.  This role is your opportunity to become involved in a great team at a great location.

Please apply online.  Applications must include a cover letter, CV and evidence of the required capabilities as per the role description.
