Job Description

Applications are invited for the open tenure role of Senior SharePoint Engineer within the Information Management Division (IMD).

 

Within the Ministry IMD is responsible for the provision of cost effective and reliable global technological systems, solutions and support, and the management and oversight of records and archives, with programmes to enable staff to better access and share information and knowledge across the Ministry's global network.

 

The role of Senior SharePoint Engineer is to be responsible for providing an expert level of technical, administrative, and client support services for the development, maintenance and management of the Ministry's SharePoint platforms in all environments.  The role requires the Senior SharePoint Engineer to be the subject matter expert and provide technical guidance and mentoring of SharePoint Administrators and other IMD staff.  This role provides all aspects of business SharePoint administration, systems planning, architectural design input, application performance, capacity management and client support. 

 

To be successful in this role you ideally should hold a recognised industry standard qualification/certification.  You will also have at least 8 years' experience in supporting server side business applications and systems in an enterprise wide environment.  The Senior SharePoint Engineer will have expert skills in SharePoint 2010/2013 at a platform level and Powershell.  This position works closely with the Senior SQL Database Administrator therefore a good understanding of MS SQL is essential.  Knowledge and skills of a number of other applications and systems as these relate to SharePoint is required. 

 

Additional to the technical skills you will have, excellent communication skills, experience in technical documentation, strong analytical and problem-solving capability and have a pragmatic collaborative approach with a focus on delivery.  You will have a mature work ethic, be team oriented yet be able to work independently.  You will also be able to quickly establish effective working relationships at all levels within an organisation.
