Publications Clerk - Whenuapai

What you will do
Publications are a vital tool to enable RNZAF personnel to carry out their tasks and so are continuously monitored to ensure their content is accurate and valid.

The clerk is responsible for assisting with the effective management of master copies held for publications sponsored by RNZAF Base Auckland. This requires the production of foreign source and RNZAF amendment packages in relation to these publications, and to include paper and electronic formats.

The clerk assists in the provision of excellent customer service to military and civilian personnel requiring information regarding publications sponsored by RNZAF Base Auckland.

What we need
We are ideally seeking a person who has worked within a library environment, using appropriate terminology you are in essence dealing with reference publications. You will also be using general and specialist office equipment.

You will bring some really good computer skills in Microsoft Office, knowledge of SAP would be an advantage. Exceptional communication skills and strong interpersonal skills are key in this role as you will liaise with a range of stakeholders both internal and external.

You are a confident communicator, able to convey your message with clarity and willing to learn where needed. Being able to work autonomously you will also enjoy being part of a team in a family orientated environment.

There is a strong customer focus on this role and you pride yourself on the standard of service you provide. Always happy to help and often going the extra mile. Being well organised and good at planning enables you to prioritise well while managing conflicting priorities.
Essentially the publications environment operates like a mini library system. If you have experience in a similar environment then this could be just the role for you.

The minimum citizenship and residency criteria for security clearances to be granted by the NZ Defence Force are as follows:

Low level Security Clearance
*       most preferably a NZ citizen, who has resided in this country continuously for at least the last five years, OR
*       is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last five years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, the United Kingdom (UK) or the United States of America (USA); and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at this level.

If you do not meet these minimum criteria, we will not be able to accept your application.
