Service Delivery and Operations | 18/210 Senior Risk and Assurance Advisor

Salary: $75,567 - $102,238

At the Service Delivery and Operations (SDO) branch, we are the face of DIA. Whether we're helping to register births, deaths or marriages, or assisting in passport applications, community grants or civil union and name change registrations, we're dedicated to serving the needs of New Zealanders.

An opportunity has arisen to join the Business Assurance team within SDO. You will be part of a team of 3 providing subject matter risk and assurance expertise to the wider branch.  Now is an exciting time to join as the team leads the implementation of an updated approach to risk management within a business recently refocused around customer centricity.

We are looking for someone who is able to think strategically around risk and work with and influence a range of stakeholders. You will be helping to increase risk maturity through your work with business risk co-ordinators and senior management and will be comfortable leading projects, interacting with senior management and facilitating groups of people.  A significant focus will be on:

  • embedding a risk management culture that acknowledges different business perspectives and needs
  • increasing the identification and ownership of risks within the business
  • providing high quality risk and assurance advice on business and project initiatives
  • assisting in the facilitation of appropriate risk discussions at the Senior Leadership Team level
  • inputting into the SDO Business Continuity Planning process.

Previous experience in a variety of risk and assurance environments would be beneficial and we would particularly welcome applications from applicants with Risk Management Framework implementation and/or Business Continuity Planning experience.

  • New Zealand Permanent Residency or NZ Citizenship
  • The ability to attain and maintain a satisfactory security clearance.
