What you will do

The primary role of the Operations Support Administrator is to retain the stocks of various aviation flight publications, maps and charts as updated and current for use by Force Elements and visiting units; this includes cyclic updates, databases, audit and liaison with providers to maintain stock levels.  Additional tasks include: administration support for the A3 Cell, emergency management support, assist unit personnel with reception and bookings and purchasing and monitoring of unit stocks.

What we need

We are seeking a person who wants to make this role their own. In collaboration with the Flight Commander there is opportunity to improve some processes and systems.  Working with aviation publications, maps and charts makes up a large percentage of this role whether it be purchasing, maintaining, supplying, storing or making sure they remain up to date.

Key in this role is attention to detail, the publications you will work with are exceptionally detailed and quite intricate, and they require a keen eye for detail. Other parts of the role include reception, ordering stationery and consumables, looking after visitors, taking phone calls, handling the mail, basically all typical administration duties.

A high standard of communication is essential while maintaining a strong customer focus. You are a confident communicator and happy to deal with a wide range of people both internal and external.

Good computer skills are a pre requisite within Microsoft Office, if you have managed databases in the past that experience will prove useful in this role.

Previous experience with an Aviation environment would be an advantage as would a related qualification.

Who we are

The Base Headquarters A3 Cell is responsible for maintaining a common operating of Military Air Operations Missions in liaison with selected NZDF units, initiating Search and Rescue (SAR) callouts on advice from HQ JFNZ, implementing the Base Incident Management Plan on notification of an emergency, and airfield facilitation and control in association with Air Traffic Control and the Airfield Manager.  The unit provides assistance to aircrew by providing planning, communications and weather information as requested. Also the provision of flight facilitation, including Dip Clearances, accommodation, rationing and ground handling. The unit also manages bookings for the Kaipara Air Weapons range
