Inland Revenue (IR) is transforming. We're making it easier for customers to do business with us; we're listening and working collaboratively with customers, agencies across government and in the private sector as we design new processes and services. We have started digitising our current world, and are now working to become to become digital at our core.

This is where you come in.

The role

An important part of our digitisation journey is creating better services for the ecosystem of partners and intermediaries that assist and support our customers - software providers, financial institutions and tax agents amongst others. We will provide a variety of “B2B” services that enable customers to access the data and functionality they need directly from their own business systems.

In this 30-month contract position, you will play a key role in driving the development of our digital ecosystem services, managing the scoping, planning and delivery of future functionality.  You'll lead multiple delivery teams and form strong relationships with key stakeholders – both internal and external to the organisation – to ensure efficient and quality-assured delivery of fit-for-purpose solutions.

As a driver and champion for the digital ecosystems team, you keep the focus, you ensure velocity with quality across the team and you proactively identify risks and act to mitigate these.  You'll be triaging issues so the right people are informed at the right time.

What you'll bring:

  • A depth of experience successfully delivering complex programmes of work in a dynamic, agile environment.
  • Experience working alongside partners in a digital environment, and the complexity that brings around delivery, testing, data security and confidentiality.
  • A genuine enjoyment for building and maintaining relationships across a broad set of stakeholders at both a tactical and strategic level.
  • The ability to connect the dots and see the bigger picture, knowing when and how to apply the right amount of pressure to achieve the best outcome.
  • The leadership skills needed to run and evolve a high performing team in a high-pace environment.
  • Experience with connecting partners to B2B services – through portals, API's or similar digital systems – is essential.
  • Thorough understanding of contemporary development and delivery practices and the ability to apply fit-for-purpose methodologies and frameworks.
  • A strong customer-centric ethic.
