Here at Inland Revenue (IR) we are well advanced into a multi-year business transformation which will modernise our entire operation. As a customer-centric organisation, IR's goal is to give customers the best possible experience when using the NZ tax system. This is resulting in significant changes to how we operate and engage with customers, and the way our people do their work.

We are looking for a Principal Advisor Organisational Development to help us achieve that goal by challenging our status quo and driving the implementation of our Diversity & Inclusion strategy.

This is a fixed term or secondment opportunity for 12 months duration. This role is based within our People & Culture team reporting to the Manager Performance & Culture, but you will also work closely with the Executive Leadership Team Diversity & Inclusion Champion.

You will:

  • Develop and lead a programme of work to ensure we achieve our Diversity & Inclusion goals
  • Drive initiatives and activities that challenge IR people to think and work differently, and embed Diversity & Inclusion into our culture and how we work day to day
  • Build accountability, and influence key stakeholders and leaders to own and role model Diversity & Inclusion at IR
  • Lead IR's Diversity & Inclusion working group
  • Maintain key relationships internally and externally of IR to ensure we fully utilise our networks to achieve IR and public sector Diversity & Inclusion goals
  • Track, monitor and report on progress and success against performance measures.

Ideally your career history will have demonstrated ability across:

  • Identification, development, and implementation of initiatives and activities that drive Diversity & Inclusion outcomes in a complex environment, with measureable and proven business impacts
  • Strong project and change management skills and experience
  • Strong and effective relationship management skills and the ability to influence at senior leadership level
  • Experience in sourcing solutions to support the implementation of a business strategy or change (large or medium scale); and proven ability in vendor management at a senior level (sourcing suitable vendors, government procurement policy and processes).
