Senior Payroll Officer

New Zealand Police is seeking a full-time permanent Senior Payroll Officers to be part of our busy centralised Payroll Team located at Police National Headquarters in Wellington. We are looking for an agile and experienced applicant who can hit the ground running and support NZ Police in the delivery of accurate and timely payroll services.

EXPERIENCE - You will have:

  • The ability to work to deadlines, sometimes under pressure, and a willingness to work as part of a team
  • Strong planning, organisational and self-management ability
  • Excellent numeracy, verbal and written communication skills
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant employment legislation, including but not limited to the Holidays Act, the Employment Relations Act, the Wages Protection Act and the Privacy Act
  • Personal attributes and temperament relevant to the position
  • An extensive background in NZ payroll processing (a minimum five years' experience is required)
  • Worked in a large-scale payroll operation with a number of different contractual agreements
  • Worked in end-to-end in enterprise payroll systems
  • Mentoring and guiding others to build skills and capability to deliver accuracy and high productivity
  • Investigation and analysis of payroll issues to identify appropriate solutions

 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT

  • Applicants must be a NZ or Australian citizen, or a NZ resident, or have a valid NZ work visa to apply for this position

  • The successful applicants must reside in Wellington
