Service Delivery and Operations | 18/318 Senior Privacy Advisor

Type: Fixed Term/Secondment - 18 months
Hours: Full time

Salary: $84,301 - $114,054

Are you looking for an opportunity to use your privacy knowledge in a way that makes a real difference for New Zealanders?  Te Ara Manaaki, the programme that is transforming how the Department of Internal Affairs provides services to New Zealanders, is looking for you.

Our aim is to redesign DIA's identity and life event services around our customers and their whānau, making it easier to access our services and those provided by other agencies and organisations.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Privacy Advisor to join the Policy & Privacy team.  As our Senior Privacy Advisor, you would

·       lead the charge to embed Privacy by Design thinking in the whole programme and all new services

·       lead privacy impact assessment and assurance processes

·       provide proactive leadership to help understand privacy risks and make sure privacy benefits are achieved

·       provide privacy leadership to our work to update our approach to information sharing, working with a range of other government agencies.

·       provide expert advice and oversight to a wide range of areas of the programme, working closely with your colleagues in our Policy & Privacy team and beyond the programme.

 

Te Ara Manaaki is an innovative, dynamic programme that offers a great opportunity for a flexible team player who enjoys working to find solutions and seeing results for New Zealanders. 

You'll be an experienced privacy professional, familiar with privacy legislation and processes, confident in dealing with diverse and senior stakeholders, and willing to work collaboratively to find innovative solutions to complex problems.  .  You'll be comfortable with working flexibly within Policy & Privacy team's work programme – and occasionally on other agreed work within Te Ara Manaaki.  Familiarity with project and programme environments with technology and process redesign elements would be an advantage.
