Job Description

What you will do

This position manages complex, multi-million dollar projects and has responsibility for project management and the delivery of identified infrastructure projects. The role has responsibility for the development of project plans and schedules, management of design, construction suppliers and project reporting through the life of the project until hand-over to business as usual.

Within this role you will work with the Single Services (Army, RNZAF, and RNZN), Estate Delivery Manager and NZDF HQ to manage projects and develop project documentation for infrastructure that is a key enabler of military capability and contributes to the expected transformation of the estate.

What we need

DE&I have been tasked with delivering a relatively large number of capital projects over the next few years, many of which are part of the Defence Estate Regeneration Project (DERP), as well as new capital works which are supporting increased capability.  There will also be the management to deliver some smaller Planned Maintenance Projects at times depending on the work load.  The position is to cater for the capacity required at the Whenuapai Air Base, but there is a possibility and expectations of flexibility to work at other Auckland regions if required.

You will need to bring significant experience within construction project delivery and programme development including familiarisation with project management methodologies that are considered best practice e.g. PRINCE2.

A strong understanding of the building design development process from concept through detailed design is essential. You are an expert in stakeholder management with an acute sense of commercial acumen which is invaluable around the negotiation table.

With your experience in infrastructure planning finding workable solutions to complex problems isn't an issue for you. You set and maintain a high standard of quality assurance, keeping up to date with all the relevant legislative requirements needed for the role.

Who we are
