Job Description

  • Get involved with children early on, to help them grow up safe and happy
  • A close, supportive team who share the same values

If you genuinely want to make a real, positive impact on children's lives, you'll be glad to know that at Oranga Tamariki, children always come first.

Putting children first guides everything we do at Oranga Tamariki. Along with that, we value fairness and sincerity, we treat whanau with respect, and we think long-term. We believe that by getting involved early in their lives and showing love and care, we give children the best chance of growing into happy, thriving New Zealanders.

If that's also your approach to social work, you could fit in well here. You'll care deeply about supporting families, and being a role model that inspires them to make good decisions.

We're looking for the right person to join our strong, solid team of social workers, who all work closely together and share those values. You'll work directly with a manager who's a local and well-known in the community, so you can rest assured that you'll be well-supported. An understanding of, and interest in, Tikanga Maori would be a definite advantage, but you'll be shown everything you need to know.

So will you join us? If you genuinely care about providing children with the aroha and support they need early on in life, you'll get immense satisfaction from being able to turn lives around, and seeing the difference your work makes to our youngest Kiwis.

If you want to help improve the lives of tamariki please apply online with your CV and cover letter. Only applications made online will be accepted.
