Job Description

Are you looking for a role that provides challenge, variety and development in an interesting and meaningful environment?  We're looking for a highly skilled Regulatory Advisor to join our Office of Radiation Safety (ORS) team.

The Office of Radiation Safety is the regulatory body that administers the Radiation Safety Act 2016 and its associated regulations. It also manages New Zealand's central spent sealed source store, radiological environmental monitoring program and national preparedness and response to radiation emergencies.

As an Advisor, you'll be tasked with assessing, making decisions on and processing requests for the renewal, variation and cancellation of licences issued, as well as issuing consents for the import / export of radioactive substances under the Radiation Safety Act 2016.  You'll provide quality advice and recommendations to the Director; and key stakeholders and the general public with queries relating to radiation safety and the Act.

You will thrive in a fast paced and varied environment, building and maintaining key relationships with a wide variety of people.  You will be skilled at understanding technical issues and communicating these in layman's terms, and providing high quality advice and support.

This is a busy and varied role that will keep you on your toes. If you think you've got what we're looking for, apply online today!
