Job Description

Korowai Manaaki Youth Justice Residence

3 X Permanent, full-time positions

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of at-risk young people?

We are currently seeking Case Leaders to join our committed team at Korowai Manaaki Youth Justice Residence. Our ultimate goal is to help every young person we work with to realise their potential. We help them transition into education, training, or employment, and to a safe and stable living arrangement when they leave our care.

Case Leaders play a key role working with care staff and other professionals to plan and deliver services for our young people. The Case Leader is responsible for leading out a multi-element approach to ensure that individualised interventions, programmes and steps are put in place for each young person, addressing underlying criminogenic, educational and health needs and behavioural issues, and ultimately effecting a successful transition from the Residence.

Applicants should be highly professional in their practice, with excellent communication and organisational skills. They should be able to evidence clinical and therapeutic experience in a multi-disciplinary setting, co-ordinating work with children and adolescents to address complex behavioural issues. Sound knowledge and experience of evidence-based practice is also required.

The minimum qualification is an undergraduate degree-level qualification in Psychology, Education, Social Work, Nursing (Mental Health); or another related field.

Korowai Manaaki is one of four youth justice residences across New Zealand which are run by Child Youth and Family Services. We provide a secure 24 hour a day, 7 day per week environment for up to 30 young people aged 14-17 who are either on remand, or sentenced via the Youth Court. The residence promotes individual change and growth through specialist education services, clinical services, individual and group programmes, and physical activities.

If you want to be part of a team that is committed to working with young people to help them realise their absolute potential, then we would love to hear from you.
