About the role:

As a young Ministry, we need to establish principles, frameworks, processes, and tools to enable anyone across the organisation to carry out good governance.


We are seeking an experienced senior governance advisor for a fixed term period to establish our wider governance tools.  You will also work to create fit-for-purpose Ministerial appointment processes that reflect our values and purpose, while meeting immediate needs of filling vacancies.


In addition to this, you will undertake a project to assess the processes for a wide variety of panels and work to design a consistent approach and process.  This will require you to work closely with our internal HR, payroll and recruitment teams.  You will be required to visit our sites across the country to understand the current panel appointment processes and then to provide training once a final process has been designed.


We are open to this role being carried out over 30 – 40 hours per week for the right candidate.


You will bring:

  • Experience with developing principles, framework and advice to improve governance and appointment practices.
  • Experience teaching and developing others.
  • Ability to create a work programme to grow the maturity of an area; in this instance governance of internal and external governance groups.
  • Identify gaps between current practice and good governance and develop ideas on how to close these gaps over time.
  • Have exceptional communication skills and the ability to communicate and train a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • The ability to work closely with internal teams to establish fit for purpose processes which are compatible with our systems and technology.


The JD overs our Senior Advisor roles,  this role will focus on general governance support, advisory bodies and committees, appointments include internal and Ministerial
