What will you do?

The team at the Linton Military Camp Health Centre are looking for a civilian Registered Nurse to join our small but committed team. In this role you will provide comprehensive, safe and efficient, high quality nursing care, within the primary healthcare space. Quality health support is a vital component to their success.

The position is pivotal in patient primary health care, health promotion, assessment and triage of patients presenting to the Defence Health Centres.

Together with your post-graduate experience and exposure to a clinical and triage environment, you will have a proven ability to maintain integrity and absolute confidentiality. Qualifications in areas such as, women's health & sexual health, would be an advantage.  

Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will shine through, as will your personal time management skills and ability to work collaboratively with the team.

What we need

Together with your post-graduate nursing experience, exposure to clinical and triage environments and confident emergency care and resuscitation skills, you will also demonstrate sound knowledge of a spectrum of general health issues and be capable of providing health education to military personnel when required.  Our ideal applicant will have proven experience in applying sound clinical judgement and initiative, be highly self-motivated and demonstrate ability in ethical decision making in implementing and or modifying clinical interventions.

Please note: Applicants must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand (NZ) and be able to obtain and maintain the required level of NZ Government security clearance for the position applied for. The minimum citizenship and residency criteria for security clearances to be granted by the NZ Defence Force are as follows:

Low level Security Clearance

  • most preferably a NZ citizen, who has resided in this country continuously for at least the last five years, OR
  • is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last five years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, the United Kingdom (UK) or the United States of America (USA); and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at this level.

If you do not meet these minimum criteria, we will not be able to accept your application.
