Senior Financial Analyst

Police National Headquarters, Wellington

Salary Range: $87,605 - $118,526

We are looking for an experienced professional who can lead delivery of one of our most important areas of financial analysis.  The Police Finance group is a busy, challenging and interesting work area.  This is an exciting opportunity to be part of shaping our financial strategies by providing quality decision-support.


Our vision is for Police to have the trust and confidence of all.  Within Finance we strive to achieve this by supporting the front line and other parts of the policing community with top quality modelling and analysis, in a timely and efficient way.  You will be part of the knowledgeable, energetic and supportive Business Analysis and Reporting team. A typical day might involve meeting with senior staff to discuss modelling requirements, providing peer review support to others in the team, and using your skills to analyse the financial impacts of changes in the Police workforce.


Skills - you will be able to:

  • Design, develop and critique a range of complex financial models
  • Collaborate and engage with Finance and other Police professionals
  • Demonstrate a holistic view, conceptual thinking, problem solving and implementation skills
  • Provide clear and concise verbal and written briefings to senior leaders within Police


Experience - you will have:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in financial modelling and analysis
  • Experience modelling personnel is desirable


Qualifications - you will hold the following:

  • An appropriate accounting or finance degree, e.g. Bachelor of Commerce or similar
  • Membership (or working towards membership) of a professional accounting or financial analysis body, e.g. CAANZ, CPA, CIMA, or similar
