The role

The focus of this role is to contribute to the assessment of development land and support the delivery of Housing New Zealand's regulatory consenting activity through various Councils in New Zealand.

This will include:

  • coordination and monitoring of Housing New Zealand's regulatory consenting programme against overall programme objectives
  • land development assessment
  • review and coordination of planning documentation such as consent applications
  • District Plan submissions
  • master plans and structure plans
  • initiating changes where required while maintaining a high quality standard to ensure efficient and effective outcomes.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • in-depth knowledge and demonstrated experience of the Resource Management Act, Local Government Act and associated legislation/regulations
  • demonstrated effectiveness in preparing and presenting planning assessments and reports
  • proven negotiation and mediation skills
  • proven project management, research and evaluation skills
  • strong communication skills and the ability to represent the organisation in a professional manner
  • relevant tertiary qualifications
  • sound computer literacy in Microsoft Windows/Office environment
  • current clean full driver's licence.
