Procurement Specialist - Fixed Term/Secondment - Wellington

 

Until December 2019 with a possibility of extension

Here is an opportunity to join the Ministry of Social Development as a Procurement Specialist based in Wellington. Reporting through to the Manager Procurement Practice, you will strive for excellence and innovation in everything you do.

 

Our vision for the Ministry's procurement is to work alongside suppliers and providers who look for innovation, work towards sustainability, and provide us with affordable high-quality solutions - so we can help those who need it now and in future.

 

The purpose position is to lead the development, implementation and alignment of sourcing strategies and initiatives across the Ministry to deliver commercial arrangements and contracts that ensure the achievement of the Procurement Strategic Plan.  Provide procurement leadership and support to business managers in sourcing strategies, contract management, category management and procurement options. Leading negotiations and implementation of complex and high value suppliers and contracts, and mentor Procurement Advisors to ensure on-going development in the area of sourcing strategies and the broader procurement lifecycle.

 

We are seeking someone who has the ability to aggregate facts, develop appropriate solutions and is aware of government procurement and relevant procurement processes. Ideally you will also have a commercial flavour to your experience in large organisations.
