Data Insights Analyst - Wellness and Safety

Permanent, Full-time

Remuneration range: $74,082.00 - $100,228.00

New Zealand Police is in search of an experienced Data Insights Analyst to join the Wellness and Safety Team and provide meaningful data collection, analysis and reporting that enables planning and decision making.


Reporting to the National Manager Wellness and Safety, the Analyst will identify, analyse and advise on emerging trends in Safety and Wellness and work with the Wellness and Safety Team to use the information and analysis to inform decisions and strategy.


You will have experience working with data in a large organization, and have experience working with Safety data. You will have a proven understanding of data and analysis with demonstrated experience in making data meaningful to customers.


You will be performing analysis, gathering requirements, designing and creating reports, and identifying opportunities to add value to business decisions. A service-focused approach with strong analytical skills and attention to detail is essential.


To be considered for this role, you must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Significant experience in information analysis, preferably in wellness and safety analysis
  • Strong consultative approach
  • Data extraction and analysis skills, including use of Excel, SAP/SAP BW, and Business Objects
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal

Special Requirements:

  • Applicants must be a NZ or Australian citizen, or a NZ resident, or have a valid NZ work visa to apply for this position
  • Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent commercial experience is mandatory
