Job Description

Each year the Tertiary Education Commission invests approximately $3 billion in tertiary education so that New Zealanders are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed for lifelong success. Our role is to invest government funding, provide information and advice to the government and to monitor the performance of tertiary education organisations

 

We are looking for a Business Coordinator to join our Business Management team within the Information Directorate. The Business Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that the Information Services Group business plan and work programme is up-to-date and visible to the Group whilst offering Agile Scrum Master support amongst other things.

 

You will be the ‘oil' for the Information Services Group, making things happen. You will ensure we are informed on what is happening and what our next steps are. This means working across the seven teams to keep our plan up-to-date, visible and useable. The Information Services Group works in an Agile way, across many projects in which you will help the Scrum teams work effectively and efficiently. 

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • working knowledge of project management theories and practices, preferably Agile
  • business analysis, project administration and/or process improvement experience
  • data savviness. Knowing what data is appropriate for a particular purpose; being able to interpret data visualisations such as graphs and charts and an ability to think critically about information gathered by data analysis
  • process mapping experience is advantageous
  • facilitation experience is advantageous
  • strong analytical thinking, practical and pragmatic approach to solving problems and delivering solutions
  • demonstrated ability to work with ambiguity, at pace and to deadlines and manage multiple priorities
  • strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work well and collaborate with others, building trusted relationships and influencing
  • proactive and self-managing.
