Job Description

As an Analyst in the Fisheries Compliance Liaison and Coordination Team you will be working to ensure that MPI's role in delivering successful fisheries operations occurs through effective and timely use of New Zealand Defence Force and other government agency assets. The primary function of the position is to carry out effective liaison and coordination through the National Maritime Coordination Centre (NMCC) to achieve MPI's objectives for domestic and international maritime surveillance, planning, at-sea boarding, and inspections.

 

The successful candidate will have:

 

  • Sound and well developed analytical skills
  • Experience in managing documentation in both electronic and hard copy formats
  • Experience in communication and relationship management
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and persuade stakeholders to achieve results
  • Be self-motivated
  • Enjoy working with groups of people with diverse skill sets to solve complex problems and facilitate specific outcomes
  • Enjoy having to find robust but pragmatic solutions to complex problems in short time frames
