Job Description

  • Lead the development of an innovative strategy for MSD's workspace

We are currently assisting the Ministry of Social Development to appoint a Senior Advisor who wants to provide the best workplace experience to its staff through the optimisation of the national and regional offices.  The role will be leading the development of the workplace strategy and advocating for Activity Based Working and Agile environments.

This is what the role will involve:

 

  • leading the development of a national and regional office strategy for our long-term workplace needs
  • delivering a change management programme to implement that strategy
  • developing a framework for reporting on workspace management
  • providing insightful and future-focused advice to aid leadership decisions about the workspace design and its management.

 

We're looking for someone with:

 

  • experience developing and implementing strategic workplace solutions with a focus on managing people through the change
  • commercial and property experience within government, a regulatory environment or the private sector
  • strong decision making and analytical skills
  • strong influencing and relationship management skills and ability to establish credibility and trust quickly
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • a great attitude – you'll be action oriented and results focused

 

You will need change management experience, although you may only be starting your journey down this route, but have a solid track record of stakeholder engagement.  You will have excellent communication skills and be a natural advocate on how to utilise the workspace when workspaces are limited.  We are preferably looking for people who want to make a genuine difference to the lives of New Zealanders, helping people help themselves.

This is a very unique opportunity to get involved in a fledgling area that will become more challenging as the nature of work changes to become more project-focused and contingent. You will have an opportunity to provide advice and insights to aid decisions on workplace design as well as developing the organisation's understanding of workplace management and trends.
