Job Description

  • Part time role for 30 hours per week.

What you will do
 
The Insurance Manager is responsible for developing and delivering a strategically relevant and economically appropriate insurance programme and for providing in-house leadership and subject matter expertise about insurance and related matters to the NZDF Leadership, Management and other personnel.   You will work in partnership with the organisation to ensure that the most cost effective approach is taken while ensuring our unique assets are well protected.

You are a highly motivated, self-starter with experience in a complex business environment where you have demonstrated the application of relevant risk management tools to protect an organisations asset base.  As a business savvy individual you are highly effective at a strategic level, take a forward thinking approach to planning and managing risks as well as influencing long term decision making and policy development.
 
You are a confident communicator, networker and influencer who proactively engages with internal and external stakeholders and builds strong professional relationships based on trust, integrity and expertise.  As a dynamic leader you lead from the front to consistently deliver exceptional service and quality outcomes along with encouraging and empowering others to do the same.

This position is part time for 30 hours per week.

Please note: Applicants must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand (NZ) and be able to obtain and maintain the required level of NZ Government security clearance for the position applied for. The minimum citizenship and residency criteria for security clearances to be granted by the NZ Defence Force are as follows:

Higher level Security Clearance

  • most preferably a NZ citizen who has resided continuously in this country for the last 10 years, OR
  • is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last 10 years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, UK or the USA; and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZSIS towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at a higher level.


If you do not meet these minimum criteria, we will not be able to accept your application.
