Permanent, Full-Time

Salary Range $61,092 - $82,659

New Zealand Police is offering an exciting opportunity to join the Police Prosecution Service (PPS) as a Project Officer, based at Police National Headquarters (PNHQ) in Wellington. Within this role you will design, lead, undertake, and/or contribute to projects that will help PPS improve and maximise its contribution to NZ Police strategic goals.

Skills and behaviour

We want someone who is committed to working in our team, who is motivated to drive and contribute to meaningful change, and who brings a positive, can-do attitude. You might be a relatively new entrant into the workforce, or you might be someone who is more experienced. Either way, if you display the following skills and behaviours we want to hear from you:

  • You will be a self-starter, with a sound work ethic and a can-do attitude
  • You will understand the importance of projects in managing and implementing change and improvement  
  • You will have some experience of managing projects - for example, within a workplace or a study context; and you will have an interest in further developing the breadth and/or depth of this experience, or in applying it to a new environment
  • You will understand that projects are about working with people to implement change, and you will show evidence of being a good communicator and effective relationship manager
  • You will know that projects require good process management, and will show evidence of being well organised, with good planning and time management skills, and
  • You will have strong writing sills, in order to manage and progress the various reporting processes that are associated with project management. 



  • A tertiary and/or a project management qualification is desirable, but not essential
  • Experience in using the MicrosoftOffice suite is essential
