Job Description

  • Put your compliance and enforcement expertise to work leading this new team
  • Ambitious programme of work focused on creating thriving communities
  • Wellington based – Fixed Term until June 2020

We think all Kiwis should have somewhere warm and dry to live, and we want our cities to lead the world in living standards.  Now is your opportunity to be part of building a new Ministry and a brighter future for New Zealand.

As part of the new Ministry of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) we at KiwiBuild want to create thriving communities that connect to the places people live, work, learn and play.  Our programme provides the opportunity for a step-change in the housing and construction sector by increasing land and housing supply, investigating major greenfield and urban regeneration projects as well as exploring innovative ways to address market constraints.

About the role ….

Reporting to the GM Allocation and Compliance, you will contribute as part of a wider team responsible for the ongoing eligibility screening, allocation and management of housing for first home buyers.

You will lead the set-up of the compliance and enforcement processes for the successful KiwiBuild ballot winners and those who purchase KiwiBuild homes. This includes ensuring compliance and enforcement of the contractual requirements of owning a KiwiBuild home and the ongoing management of these systems and processes. You will utilise your leadership and coaching skills to manage and develop the team and drive continuous improvement as processes evolve.

About you ….

  • Proven successful team leadership experience including ability to build and grow a team and create an inclusive and engaged culture
  • Sound experience in compliance and enforcement processes or operations (or similar) including the development, management, and continuous improvement of processes, criteria, and systems
  • Ability to identify and appropriately manage risk
  • Proven experience in a customer service environment including setting and measuring customer service standards, and managing and resolving complaints
  • Understanding of relevant legislation such as the Privacy Act
  • Ability to quickly establish and build strong working relationships.

This is an exciting new role where you will have the freedom to set the structure, culture and success of this team right from the start.  If this sounds just the opportunity you have been seeking, then apply NOW.  If you want to have an initial chat or have any questions, please feel free to email
