Trainee/Analyst/Senior/Lead Intelligence Analyst

New Zealand Police Intelligence have multiple vacancies for intelligence analyst positions at all levels, from Trainee Intelligence Analyst to Lead Intelligence Analyst. The positions are based in all three Tamaki Makaurau policing Districts or in the Tamaki Makaurau regional Intelligence unit.

In addition to the completed application, all applicants are required to submit work samples (Trainee/Analyst) or a portfolio of work (Senior/Lead), may be required to undergo psychometric testing prior to interview, and complete a scenario analysis exercise at interview. Skills - you will be able to:

  • Demonstrate ability to identify, research, analyse, and critically examine issues or problems.
  • Manage competing demands and high workload at times
  • Develop and maintain a wide range of professional relationships (internal and external)
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of plans, projects or initiatives [Lead only]

 

Skills are for all levels of Intelligence analyst, unless stipulated. Trainee Intelligence Analyst tasks are performed with supervision.

 

Experience - you will have:

  • Experience or extensive experience [in case of Lead] writing timely, clear, succinct, and useful documents
  • Experience or extensive experience [in case of Lead] in using a variety of tools and techniques to understand a problem, develop solutions, and effectively influence and inform decision-making
  • Experience or extensive experience [in case of Lead] presenting complex issues clearly to a range of audiences (written and verbal)
  • Experience of coaching and mentoring [Senior] / Extensive experience of coaching, mentoring and leading individuals [Lead]

 

Experiences are for all levels of Intelligence analyst, unless stipulated. Trainee Intelligence Analyst tasks are performed with supervision.

 

Special requirements - applicants must:

  • Hold the New Zealand Diploma in Intelligence Analysis or equivalent. If the NZDIA is not held, the applicant must have the necessary relevant experience and be able to complete and submit the required NZDIA modules within 15 months of employment
  • Submit samples of work with their application (refer to link above)
  • Be a New Zealand Citizen or have permanent residency and be able to obtain and maintain an appropriate national security clearance

  • Solve - Level 1 (Individual Contributor)
  • Deliver - Level 1 (Individual Contributor)

Remuneration range:

  • Trainee Analyst $43,864 - $49,348
  • Analyst $55,927 - $72,376
  • Senior Analyst $64,042 - $87,728
  • Lead Analyst $84,439 - $104,178
