Job Description

In the role of Category Manager you will perform a range of procurement management functions for non-clinical equipment, consumables and services. NZ Health Partnerships is looking for an experienced Category Manager to manage a diversity of categories at a national level.

Using your experience, you will develop and execute the procurement strategy for non-clinical portfolios.  Enjoy the challenge of managing suppliers nationally and handling the different levels of perspective of contracts.  You will drive benefits, develop and execute supplier relationship manager programmes, negotiate and manage contracts as appropriate. Part of the challenge is working strategically with the variety of operating models across the sector.

 

To be successful in the role:

You will have great stakeholder engagement and management skills, along with 5 – 10 years' experience in a procurement function in a complex environment, and you have the ability to lead and support multiple projects simultaneously to meet goals and deadlines.

 

it is important that you have strong knowledge of procurement policies, processes and procedures with demonstrable analytical skills, financial modelling skills, and experience with total cost of ownership/whole of life costing models. You have some understanding of the Indirect Service market and have RFx experience.  Ideally you are tertiary qualified in business/ economics/procurement/ supply chain or finance and hold a relevant business related qualification. Knowledge of the All of Government Rules of Procurement would be useful.
